The mission of the New York City Chapter is to provide high-quality professional development programs in legal management and to afford collaborative member and business partner connections all in an effort to empower our members to lead the business of law.

About ALANYC

Who We Are
Founded in 1977, the New York City Chapter serves approximately 350 members. Our members work in law firms covering the entire spectrum of the New York City area legal profession – from just a few attorneys to firms with thousands of attorneys and global offices. The average size of a law firm represented in the New York City Chapter is about 50 attorneys.

What We Do
We offer a comprehensive array of programs and resources to meet the needs of our members including:

  • Networking – our luncheons, social events and community outreach programs provide unique connection opportunities for members.
  • Discussion Forums – our discussion forums allow hundreds of members to exchange ideas and information in real-time.
  • Job Referral – our job referral service communicates openings to all New York City and neighboring chapter members.
  • Business Partner Database – our business partner directory is a useful tool for identifying well-vetted vendors that provide quality products and services to the legal community.
  • Business Partner Forum – our business partner forum allows members and business partner to exchange ideas and information in real-time. Our business partners also have a business partner only discussion forum to discuss and collaborate on solution for the legal community.

Our Leadership
Our Board of Directors is comprised of an executive board including the President, President-Elect, Communications Officer, Financial Officer and Immediate Past President, as well as nine Vice Presidents and up to four Vice Presidents-At-Large who serve one-year terms. The President and Board of Directors set the agenda and programs for the year. Vice Presidents and Committee Chairs are responsible for planning and implementing programs.
